Dairy cows eat a Total Mixed Ration (TMR), or "cow casserole," that contains ingredients such as corn silage, haylage and more. The components are mixed together so each bite the cow takes provides them the energy they need to make nutrient-rich milk.

“Cows prefer an environment that is controlled and consistent each day," said Michigan dairy farmer Gertie van den Goor. 🌡️⛅ "They don’t like to sunbathe or sweat, so they are most comfortable where the temperature isn’t too hot and where the sun is not shining directly on them."

At Green Point Dairy on a nearly 80-degree day, fans are on moving fresh air throughout the entire length of the barn and the roof is blocking the hot rays of the sun.

You won’t be feeling the Monday blues after a bite of this undeniably delicious summer dessert recipe from @stefmturner! ⬇️💙

We’re celebrating with our friends at @milkmeansmore by making one of our favorite + easy crisp recipes the whole family will love! 💙 Scroll down for the recipe and instructions.

Ingredients:
Crisp Topping
-3/4 cup butter, melted
-1/2 cup light brown sugar
-1/2 cup granulated sugar
-1 1/2 cups quick oats
-1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
-1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Blueberry Filling
-8 cups fresh blueberries
-juice of 1 large lemon (approximately 2 tbsp of juice)
-2/3 cup granulated sugar
-1/4 cup cornstarch

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a dish with non stick spray and set aside.
2. Make the filling: Dump the blueberries in large bowl. Add in the lemon juice (and zest if using), sugar, and cornstarch. Stir gently to combine and coat all the blueberries. Set aside while you make the topping.
3. Make the topping: In another large bowl combine the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, oats, salt, and flour. Stir to combine completely. Set aside.
4. Spread the blueberries in the prepared pan and top evenly with the crisp mixture.
5. Bake for 45 – 50 minutes until the crisp is browned and the blueberries are bubbly. Allow the crisp to rest for at least 20 minutes before serving. Can be enjoyed warm, room temperature or cold, with ice cream, yogurt, or by itself! 💙🍦
