Bridgeport-Spaulding Community School District
School ‘meals-to-go’ has taken on new meaning at Bridgeport-Spaulding Community Schools. The school nutrition team is using their new vans to deliver school meals to any student who may not have transportation for the mobile pick-up. The vans have played a large role in keeping students in Bridgeport eating nutritious meals.
With a limited staff, the school nutrition team served lunch and breakfast throughout the summer of 2020. The team continues to serve students breakfast and lunch at each school, offers grab and go meals to virtual students along with delivering meals with the new vans. Grab and Go meals are available at Atkins Elementary Schools on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 pm.
Toni Nagy, Food Service Director, recognizes how hard her staff has been working through this massive change in serving meals. She credits her staff who put in above and beyond effort to offer the best food and milk to the students, staff and community.
