Taking Pride in Animal Care

It's not just our family that takes pride in caring for our animals. Here are two of our employees showing some love to one of our dairy cows.
As a fifth generation dairy farm going strong, there is no better word to describe us than PROUD. We are proud of so many things on our farm. Proud that we live on the land we sow and reap, proud that we are raising 10 children of the sixth generation around farming, proud that we have good genetics in our herd, proud that our community is interested, proud award winners and the list could go on and on.
But none of that pride would come if we didn’t take really good care of our animals and our land.
Our animals are well taken care of. We use beach sand for them to lay on so that it conforms to their udders in the winter and stays cool for them in the summer. We use huge fans to keep our barns ventilated on warm and humid days. We have a cool-water sprinkling system our cows can walk under for relief from the heat. They get exercise out in our pastures.

Our vet and nutritionist regularly visit the dairy to help us provide the best care for our animals.
Our cows receive care from our veterinarian on a regular basis to make sure they are healthy and doing well during pregnancy. Our nutritionist provides us with valuable information on how to best feed our animals with nutrients and minerals to help them grow strong and be able to produce quality milk. We have a hoof trimmer that visits monthly to make sure their feet are in top condition.
Our cows have fresh, cool water to drink at all times and feed is always within reach. Our alleyways are always scraped to prevent slipping when walking around. In cold weather conditions, the cows are tucked in tight in their barns with the doors closed and curtains pulled.
Our cows produce wholesome, high-quality milk. We are proud of what they do for us, so we make sure to take extra good care of them.
