Creamy Strawberry Sipper

Pink and pretty, this strawberry-infused milk punch is perfect for any celebration from Christmas to Mother’s Day. Make it with crème de cacao and vodka for an adult beverage, make it without for a family-friendly party or make a pitcher of both to keep everyone happy! Adding alcohol changes the flavor, but both versions are scrumptious.

Instructions

In medium saucepan combine strawberries, sugar and water. Bring to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce heat. Gently simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Mash with potato masher. Simmer for 2 minutes more.

Set fine mesh strainer over a bowl. Press strawberry mixture through strainer, extracting as much juice as possible. Skim off and discard any foam from the strawberry juice surface. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours to 1 week. (You should have about 2 cups juice.)

Before serving, stir together milk, half-and-half, crème de cacao (if desired), vodka (if desired) and vanilla. Stir in cold strawberry syrup. Pour into pitcher. Place 1 or 2 ice cubes in twelve 8- to 10-ounce glasses. Pour strawberry mixture over ice cubes. Garnish with fresh strawberries (if desired).
