Cheesy Turkey Burger Chowder

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound 93% lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup Shredded carrot
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/3 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups diced and peeled white or red potatoes (about 2 medium potatoes)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons brown or Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded or torn American cheese
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) petite diced tomatoes, well drained
  • Dill pickle relish (optional)
  • Bread sticks (optional)

A sprinkling of dill pickle relish provides the perfect flavor accent for this ground turkey and potato soup loaded with cheese.
