Not Your Kids’ Frozen Treats!
I have a serious problem. I subscribe to way too many recipe newsletters. I am not a cook and it only became a problem when my daughter moved to Phoenix and now I cannot say “Make this for me!” But now that it is ice cream month, I am willing to make the sacrifice and open the drawers for my dusty measuring cups! They look so easy I thought I would share some in this recipe round-up.
My guilty pleasure is Food 52. They have a shop with so many goodies I could go broke! And they share recipes with trendy ingredients and beautiful photography…I am taken in. Here are some I am deciding on now:
I have no idea what a Paleta is but with 6 ingredients and simple instructions, I think even I can give this a try! (OK, I looked it up: It means small stick in Spanish and is commonly translated to Mexican ice pop, made with fruit juice and chunks of fruit.)
This just screams the deliciousness of summer berries. It’s a bit more involved, so I may need to find one of the staff here at Milk Means More to give them a try and let me have one!
Now here is one that is simple enough that I have actually printed out and bought the ingredients. I have to make it in a few days so I will let you know how it turns out. Just juice, zest and stir! Pretty certain I can handle this one.
This last one is very different and very simple. It is a dairy dessert made with labneh. Common in the Mediterranean countries, labneh is a strained yogurt cheese gaining popularity in the United States. It brings all of the nutrition of yogurt in a cheesecake consistency. Give it a try in this recipe from Skillet.
