United Dairy Industry of Michigan and University of Michigan Athletic Dept. Forge Multi-Year Partnership
UDIM joins forces with UM Athletic Dept to educate students on nutritional benefits of dairy.
(ANN ARBOR, MI August 4, 2023) United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM) is excited to announce a multi-year partnership with the University of Michigan Athletic Department, connecting Michigan’s 900 dairy farmers with UM and its students and student athletes to engage and educate about the nutritional benefits of milk and dairy products.
This collaboration will also enable Michigan student-athletes to benefit from statewide usage of marks and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, creating a unique platform for them to connect with their audience while promoting not only nutritional, but athletic performance benefits of dairy.
“We are beyond excited to welcome back the United Dairy Industry of Michigan as a partner of Michigan Athletics,” said Jennifer Cadicamo, Vice President/General Manager of Michigan Sports Properties. “This partnership demonstrates the connection between the dairy industry and our student athletes and helps educate the Michigan Athletics community about the nutritional benefits of milk and dairy products. This connection will be most exemplified through NIL partnerships with select student athletes, and we are thrilled to be able to continue to move forward in this new, exciting marketing space.”
The partnership will encompass a range of activation elements, with a special focus on the UM Men’s Hockey team and several UM Women’s athletic teams during the 2023-24 academic year. Also included is a sports dietitian fellowship program with UM Athletics that will play a vital role in educating UM student athletes in making informed dietary choices that can enhance their health and athletic performance. Fans and students alike can expect engaging marketing campaigns, events, and digital initiatives that highlight the essential role of dairy in maintaining an active, balanced and healthy lifestyle.
“We are looking forward to beginning this multi-year partnership with the University of Michigan Athletic Department,” said Sarah Woodside, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at UDIM. “Sports Nutrition education is a top priority at UDIM, so we are excited to be in a position where we can connect with and educate Michigan student athletes and students on the tremendous impact of dairy consumption on their health, endurance and overall well-being.”
