Miracle of Life
One of the highlights of the Upper Peninsula State Fair is the Miracle of Life Tent. The Miracle of Life Tent becomes a temporary home to different farm animals that are due to have their babies. The tent has a veterinarian on hand at all times and is staffed with several Michigan State University veterinary students.
When a particular animal is about to give birth they announce it over the fair grounds sound system and many people pack into the tent to see first-hand the miracle of life! We had the opportunity to bring in several cows who gave birth in the tent. Many of the people watching have never experienced a calf being born and they watch with great anticipation! Several adorable lambs were born throughout the week and I also had the chance to watch the miracle of little piglets being born!
It was fun to have a part in helping educate thousands of people who came through this popular tent.
