Welcome to My Blog!
I’m Mason Horning and I’m a sixth grader in Manchester, Michigan. I play percussion in our school band, I like football and basketball and I love playing outside with my dogs Leo and JJ. Like most of my friends, I also have chores to do to help out my family – but sometimes my chores include milking our Holstein dairy cows or bottle-feeding the baby calves on our dairy farm.[jwplayer config=”movieplayer” file=”http://michigandairynewsbureau.org/dayonthefarm/media/Welcome.flv” image=”http://michigandairynewsbureau.org/dayonthefarm/media/welcome.jpg”] Not all of my friends have the chance to grow up on a dairy farm. So I thought I’d write this blog to let people know what it’s really like to grow up on a dairy farm — Do I wake up really early everyday? How do you milk a cow? What do they eat? Is it true that cows have four stomachs? Check back often for more posts about my life on a dairy farm, and even some videos that will give you first hand experience of life on the dairy farm.
