The Gasper Family
Aaron and Andrea Gasper farm in partnership with Aaron’s father, Ken, at Lew-Max Holsteins. A fifth-generation farm, they care for 500 cows and grow crops to feed their animals.
The Gaspers pay close attention to cow comfort, treating their cows to a beach-like setting in the summer, complete with sand to lie on and sprinklers to mist the cows in warm weather.
The Gaspers are very involved in their dairy cooperative, and were named Michigan Milk Producers Association’s Outstanding Young Cooperators in 2007. They believe in protecting their land, air and water for future generations, just as their ancestors have done.
