The UP State Fair and the Miracle of Life
One way our family finished a fabulous, fun-filled summer was by attending the Upper Peninsula State Fair.
We also brought cows that were ready to have their calves to the Miracle of Life building. The building had bleachers so fair-goers could watch the animals give birth. Michigan State University students and veterinarians cared for the new mommas and babies ‘round the clock, and answered many questions from people visiting the exhibit.
This year, we had seven cows that gave birth throughout the week of the fair. In addition to cows, there were sheep, pigs and chickens that brought new life to the building.
It was truly rewarding to give people the opportunity to watch “the miracle of life” for the first time!
